PARABLE RAP
Co Kerry,
Ireland used to host an Annual Ballylongford International
Oyster Festival. As part of the event they offered €1,000
(1000 Euro) for the winner of a poetry/rap contest. As an
ice breaker, divide your women into teams of six and have
each table create a poem or rap about "pearls".
A sample rap is included to get you rolling.

Cover oyster-colored
plastic tableclothes with assortied color fishnet sprinkled
with crafter's "pearls," available from any local beading
shop. Visit a local party supply store to purchase clam shell-shaped
serving dishes. These start as low as $9.95 and may be filled
with Seafood Salad, other fun ocean-themed foods or even peas
with pearl onions. A favorite of ours is Seafood Quiche. Be
sure to set out a bowl of oyster crackers. (The theme set
includes recipes and links to online sources for the afore
mentioned products.)

Guest tables
may be covered with the same tablecloth/ fishnet/pearl combination
as on the serving table, or you may take the entire affair
formal by using oyster-colored tablecloths topped with strands
of pearls (borrowed from church ladies) woven into ivy garlands
with white candles in crystal candlesticks as the centerpieces.
